Unis Gio

With the recent upturn in weather hinting at oncoming spring, the idea of trading in the daily raw denim for a lighter pair of chinos has begun to come back to mind. I’ve been hearing the praises of the Unis Gio chino being sung for the last couple of seasons and am seriously considering finally grabbing a pair this coming summer. The fit is a slimmer one, and has been described as ideal for a number of body types. The pant sits as a perfect balance between classic and contemporary, giving it an understated elegance. Unis is the brainchild of Eunice Lee, a New York based designer who has built the Unis brand around the Gio. Her focus has been to bring to menswear particular garments she felt was missing, and in the perfect chino, it seems she’s found a great gap to fill. They’re available at Neighbor in Vancouver, as well as online at Unis. If you’re quick, the Unis site has the occasional sale, but you’ll need exceptional Internet reflexes to grab the more popular sizes as these pants move fast.
