Fall is just around the corner and with it comes a number of exciting gigs for Vancouverites. This week’s We Hear features a few of those we’re looking forward to the most. The first act is The Tallest Man on Earth, a Swedish musician who channels early Bob Dylan. His song Kids on the Run, is linked below and is well-worth a listen. He’ll be performing at the Vogue on 10 September. I’ve heard very positive reports about his live show and am looking forward to the show. The second band is Hot Chip and their track Look at Where We Are from their most recent album, In Our Heads. Hot Chip shows are always a wild dance party, and they’ll be performing twice on the 15 and 16 September at the Commodore Ballroom. Lastly is the xx. The xx is currently touring in support of their new album Coexist and they’ll be coming to the Vogue Theatre on 5 October. The xx is one of my favorite bands going. Their first release, the xx, was an amazingly lush musical experience that deserves multiple listenings. It’s perfect for rainy Vancouver nights – something we’re moving all too quickly towards. There is one problem, however: all three of these shows are sold out so finding tickets might be tricky.
